A Day at the Movies with the Seal Academy

PWM Advisors > A Day at the Movies with the Seal Academy

“Together as a nation, we have the obligation to put sunshine into the hearts of our little ones. They are our precious possessions. They deserve what happiness life can offer.” – Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela

The Seal Academy is a Durban North based school for The Intellectually Impaired. The school was founded in 2017 by Liza Hall, mother of a young boy with Down Syndrome and Sandy Drew an experienced teacher of over 25 years in both Mainstream and Special Needs education.

Their aim is to develop social, expressive, artistic and learning opportunities for children that are Intellectually Impaired.  Their dream is to get the students to reach their full potential according to their individual special abilities, which would empower the students with self-confidence and feelings of self-worth. Their wish is to create awareness of children that are Intellectually Impaired and the importance of the community embracing their difference.

PWM Advisors spent the morning of Nelson Mandela Day with three of the children from The Seal Academy at Cine Centre, Suncoast where they watched Toy Story 4. For the little ones that could not make the movies, PWM Advisors surprised them with goodie bags and bubbles, which put a smile on their lovely faces.

A special shout out to Cine Centre Suncoast for playing a huge role in making this day happen.

It was a day filled with laughter, love and fun filled memories.
